Bulgarian-Albanian business forum

The state institutions of Bulgaria and Albania will provide full business support on both sides. This was the motto of the Bulgarian-Albanian business forum, which was held during the official visit of the President of Republic of Albania Bujar Nishani.

President Rosen Plevneliev expressed Bulgaria’s readiness for expertise sharing in the pre-unification process of Albania’s European integration. Regarding the development of bilateral trade and economic relations, the Bulgarian President declared the energy and infrastructure sectors as strategic for both countries. He said that Bulgaria has the resources and specialists in the field of power grids and hydropower plants construction in Albania.

On his part, Albania’s President Bujar Nishani stated, that there are historically friendly relations between Bulgaria and Albania. There are over 60 Bulgarian companies operating on the Albanian market, and there is a big potential for new Bulgarian investments, said the Albanian President and encouraged the development of Bulgarian business activities.

The forum reached its core with the announcement of the investment climate and business opportunities for Bulgaria and Albania. Mr. Stamen Yanev, Executive Director of InvestBulgaria Agency introduced Bulgaria’s strategic positions and the main macroeconomic indicators to the Albanian participants in the forum.

The President of Albanian Chamber of Commerce - Mr. Nikolin Jaka revealed that he sees Bulgaria as a reliable business partner and marked the importance of the food, energy, services, and tourism sectors.

After the official part, Bulgarian companies met with partners from Albania in the transportation, restaurant and food industry, medical services, trade sectors.

The forum gathered over 50 representatives of businesses and institutions from both countries.
