Bulgarian Investment Agency and Invest India signed a Cooperation Agreement

The Bulgarian-Indian business forum was officially opened by Deputy Minister of Economy Mr. Lachezar Borisov and the Head of the Indian Business Delegation Mr. Kesav S Kumar welcomed the business representatives from both sides. The Bulgarian-Indian Business Forum continued throughout the day on 05.09.2018 and ended with an official dinner at the Boyana Residence, given by the Presidency of the Republic of Bulgaria.

 

Stamen Yanev presented the activities of Bulgarian Investment Agency to more than 250 company representatives from both countries. The forum is part of the official visit of Indian President Ram Nath Kovind in Bulgaria by invitation of the President of the Republic of Bulgaria Rumen Radev.

Stamen Yanev, Executive Director of Bulgarian Investment agency and Deepak Bagla, Executive Director of Indian Investment Agency, signed an Investment Cooperation Agreement between the two countries.

Over 250 were the number of representatives from Bulgarian companies and almost 70 from the Indian side. Besides the business delegation, the President of India, took part in the event. Ram Nath Kovind, who is on a state visit in the period 4-6 September. The President of the Republic of Bulgaria, Gen. Rumen Radev and the President of India addressed the business community representatives on both sides and closed the business forum.

 

Beneficial bilateral business meetings, the establishment of direct contacts and the conclusion of several trade agreements are the result of the Bulgarian-Indian Business Forum, as well as the introduction to the specifics and opportunities of the market and the search for new forms of mutual cooperation.

The focus of business representatives from India was at big companies, international banks operating in Bulgaria as well as SME sector including from United States. The main interests of developing the bilateral economic relations from the Indian side were focused on tourism, agriculture, IT technology, innovation and food processing.

Mr. Levon Hampartzoumian, Deputy Chairman of the Indian-Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce, Mr. Nikolay Dimitrov, Executive Director of the Bulgarian Development Bank, Mr. Vishambhar Saran, Honorary Consul of Bulgaria in Kolkata, Prof. Kiril Stoychev, Chief Secretary of the Bulgarian Defense Industry Association, Mr. Ivaylo Petkov, Director at the Ministry of Tourism took part in the forum.
