Stamen Yanev attended in the Bulgarian-Azerbaijan Business Forum

On November 7, 2018, the 5th meeting of the Bulgarian-Azerbaijan intergovernmental commission for economic cooperation took place. The Bulgarian Small and Medium-sized Enterprises Promotion Agency organized a Bulgarian-Azerbaijan Business Forum with bilateral meetings, which took place on 7 November 2018 (Wednesday) in Sofia. An official delegation from the Republic of Azerbaijan, accompanied by a business delegation from companies working in the food, mechanical, energy and other sectors of common interest, took part in the event. The purpose of their visit to Bulgaria is to establish long-term relationships based on mutually beneficial cooperation.

Stamen Yanev, Executive Director of the Bulgarian Investment Agency, presented a presentation of the agency focusing on the attractive tax system of Bulgaria, the low costs of doing business with our neighboring countries. The investment climate in the country was also presented and the measures  provided to promote investment and state mechanisms for their implementation were also explained. The Forum was opened by the Co-Chairman of the Intergovernmental Commission, Mrs. Temenujka Petkova, Minister of Energy of the Republic of Bulgaria, and Mr. Inam Kerimov, Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Azerbaijan. Representatives of the Bulgarian institutions engaged in promoting bilateral trade and economic cooperation. The aim of the business visit was to intensify the trade and economic relations between the Republic of Bulgaria and the Republic of Azerbaijan, to open up new opportunities for trade and production cooperation also establishing business partnerships, as well as to promote bilateral investments.
