At an official ceremony, the InvestBulgaria Agency (IBA) awarded a Class “A” Investment Certificate to Air Liquide Bulgaria for its new industrial and innovative project.

During the presentation of the certificate, Mrs. Mila Nenova, Executive Director InvestBulgaria Agency emphasized the significance of the investment for the Bulgarian economy:

“Air Liquide’s investment is proof that Bulgaria offers the right conditions for growth and innovation. It highlights the confidence that leading international companies have in our economy. This is a very important project – industrial, high-tech, and innovative. The cooperation between Aurubis and Air Liquide demonstrates the excellent opportunities for international collaboration that exist in Bulgaria.”

The new investments will enable Air Liquide to reduce carbon emissions by 33% and energy consumption by 7%, while modernizing its existing production capacities. This marks another step in the company’s development in Bulgaria, where it already operates three production units and supplies over 600 industrial clients.

The event was attended by representatives of the French business community in Bulgaria. Vesela Todorova-Mozettig, Director of the French-Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce, highlighted Air Liquide’s importance as a key company for France, while Michel Rozot, Head of the Economic Department at the French Embassy, emphasized the company’s 25-year partnership with Bulgaria.

Felicitas Zimmerhof, General Manager of Air Liquide Bulgaria, stated that the project is a clear example of the company’s long-term presence and ambitions, while Marcin Skowron, Strategy Director for Eastern Europe, underlined the role of new technologies in enhancing regional competitiveness and innovation in the fields of hydrogen, CCUS, and sustainable fuels.

The certification of this project is a strong signal of international investors’ trust in Bulgaria and reaffirms InvestBulgaria Agency’s commitment to promoting sustainable and high-tech industrial solutions.
