ANGEL IVANOV PRESENTS BULGARIA AS AN ATTRACTIVE INVESTMENT DESTINATION TO THE FRENCH BUSINESS COMMUNITY IN PARIS

Angel Ivanov, Acting Executive Director of the InvestBulgaria Agency (IBA), participated in the conference “France–Bulgaria: Invest. Innovate. Succeed.”, held in Paris on 24 June.

The event was organised by the Embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria in France in partnership with the French-Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCIFB), the Bulgarian-French Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCBF), and the InvestBulgaria Agency.

The conference brought together representatives of public institutions, employers’ organisations and leading companies from Bulgaria and France. Under the theme “Bulgaria: A Winning Destination for French Investors,” the forum highlighted the country’s economic outlook and investment opportunities for the 2026–2030 period.

During the conference, Angel Ivanov delivered a presentation showcasing Bulgaria as a competitive and sustainable investment destination. He outlined the country’s key advantages, including its strategic geographical location, access to the European Single Market, macroeconomic stability, favourable tax environment, developing industrial infrastructure, and growing potential in high-tech industries, energy, manufacturing and innovation.

Mr Ivanov also emphasised the role of the InvestBulgaria Agency as a trusted institutional partner throughout the entire investment process—from the initial investor inquiry to the successful implementation of investment projects. He highlighted the importance of maintaining an active dialogue with the business community, bilateral chambers of commerce and international partners in order to attract new investments and further strengthen Bulgaria’s position as a reliable destination for French companies.

The conference was officially attended by Krasimir Yakimov, Deputy Minister of Economy, Investments and Industry. Other participants included H.E. Radka Balabanova, Ambassador of the Republic of Bulgaria to France, representatives of the OECD, the InvestBulgaria Agency, French-Bulgarian business organisations, the Confederation of Employers and Industrialists in Bulgaria (KRIB), and leading companies with a successful presence on the Bulgarian market.

Stéphane Delaire, Chairman of the French-Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCIFB), took part in a discussion on Bulgaria’s attractiveness for French investment and the success stories of French companies operating in the country. Vesela Mozettig, Executive Director of the Chamber, presented an overview of the French business presence in Bulgaria and the development of the country’s technology ecosystem.

The discussions highlighted the positive momentum of French investment in Bulgaria, as well as the country’s growing role as an industrial, energy and technology hub in Southeast Europe. Participants were also presented with successful examples of French-Bulgarian business partnerships.

The forum reaffirmed the strong potential for further strengthening the economic partnership between Bulgaria and France and outlined new opportunities for cooperation in industry, the energy transition, innovation and technological development.

The InvestBulgaria Agency extends its sincere appreciation to the Embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria in France, H.E. Radka Balabanova and Ms Rumyana Chekov, Head of the Commercial and Economic Office at the Embassy, for the excellent organisation of the event and their continued commitment to strengthening bilateral economic relations. The Agency also expresses its gratitude to the French-Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCIFB), the Bulgarian-French Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCBF), and all participants for contributing to the success of the forum.
