For the first time, Bulgarian companies have advanced to the European round of the prestigious international Sustainability Impact Awards competition organized by Schneider Electric.
The ceremony, held at the Hilton Hotel in Sofia, was attended by key representatives of institutions and businesses. Among the official guests was Ms. Mila Nenova, Executive Director of the Bulgarian Investment Agency (BIA), who participated in the Innovation Talk discussion panel. The panel focused on sustainable development as a key driver of economic competitiveness and the role of institutions in supporting such initiatives.
“State support for investments in sustainable practices is not just a choice—it is a strategic obligation. More and more investors are placing sustainability among their leading criteria when choosing locations and partners. The participation of Bulgarian companies in initiatives such as Schneider Electric’s shows that our country is not only ready but also active in this direction,” Ms. Mila Nenova emphasized in her speech.
Arexim Engineering from Smolyan and Sol Marina Palace Hotel in Nessebar were honored at the national level. The two organizations will represent our country in the next stage of the competition, which recognizes good business practices in the field of energy efficiency, innovation, and sustainable growth.
The Sustainability IMPACT Awards competition is being held for the third consecutive year and includes representatives from Bulgaria for the first time. The winners demonstrate a comprehensive approach to sustainable development – from the implementation of their own renewable energy sources, through digital management of energy resources, to building an internal culture and engaging employees.
