In the Trakia Economic Zone near Plovdiv, the new high-tech manufacturing plant of ZS Europe Ltd., part of the Chinese holding Shanghai Unison Aluminium Products, was officially inaugurated.
The project has been granted a Class A Investment Certificate under the Investment Promotion Act, with a total investment of nearly BGN 18.7 million, and foresees the creation of over 100 new jobs. The production facility covers an area of 12,000 square meters.
The new plant will manufacture aluminum components for leading automotive companies such as Tesla, Volvo, Volkswagen, Stellantis, and Audi, strengthening Bulgaria’s position as a key partner in the European automotive supply chain.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Innovation and Growth Tomislav Donchev officially opened the high-tech plant, stating:
“The foundation of successful economic development is industry. It is the base that allows everything else to be built — high value-added services and related productions. The road to prosperity passes through factories, not through cobblestones.”
Among the distinguished guests at the ceremony were Mrs. Mila Nenova, Executive Director of the InvestBulgaria Agency (IBA), along with the IBA team that worked on the project’s certification; Mr. Luo Shibing, General Manager of Shanghai Unison Aluminium Products Co.; Eng. Plamen Panchev, founder and CEO of the Trakia Economic Zone; Mr. Kostadin Dimitrov, Mayor of Plovdiv; and Mr. Vladimir Temelkov, Deputy Mayor for Digitalization, European Policies, Business Development, and Education, as well as other official guests from China.
The project stands as further proof that Bulgaria is a reliable partner for high-tech and sustainable investments.
