Hristo Etropolsky, Acting Executive Director of Invest Bulgaria Agency (IBA) and Taylan Erol, CEO of the Turkish company Appsilon Enterprise held a meeting at the office of the agency.
At the beginning of the year IBA organized a business forum to promote Bulgaria as an attractive investment destination in Istanbul. As part of the forum, a road show was organized in Istanbul, in which the laboratory of the Turkish company was visited.
Appsilon Enterprise is a start-up that produces diamonds in the lab by recreating the earth’s process for growing single crystal diamonds. In addition to their use as beautiful jewellery, diamonds are finding applicability in a range of industries, including chip manufacturing, quantum sensors, optics, and detectors for high-tech sectors. The company has offices in Teknopark, Istanbul and the city of Delft, the Netherlands.
Currently, the company’s management said that Plovdiv is on the final straight to attract Appsilon Enterprise in Bulgaria, competing with several other destinations. The company is expected to make a decision by the end of the year, and to begin production operations by the end of 2024. The finalisation of the project will create around 100 new jobs.
