The Executive Director of the  InvestBulgaria Agency (IBA), Mila Nenova, took part in the closing panel of the Annual Meeting of Local Authorities, held at the Albena resort complex. The forum, organized by the National Association of Municipalities in the Republic of Bulgaria (NAMRB), brought together representatives of the government, local authorities, and business to discuss economic development, regional connectivity, and opportunities for sustainable growth.

In her speech and subsequent presentation, Ms. Nenova outlined the role of the Bulgarian Investment Agency in promoting investment and creating a favorable business environment. She emphasized the need for closer partnership between institutions and local authorities to provide up-to-date data on infrastructure, labor, and available land—a key prerequisite for successful presentation to investors.
The panel discussion on the local economy, national connectivity, and global restructuring was attended by Ms. Nenova, the mayor of Sliven, Stefan Radev, the mayor of Lovech, Strachimir Petkov, the deputy mayor of Stara Zagora, Svetoslav Kolev, the secretary of the municipality of Targovishte, Hristalina Halacheva, the deputy mayor of the municipality of Sofia, Nadezhda Bobcheva, who joined online, and Zhelyaz Enev from the Ministry of Economy and Industry.

The forum in Albena was marked by active dialogue between municipalities and institutions aimed at accelerating economic development and making better use of Bulgaria’s strategic advantages.

The event is part of the BAI’s ongoing efforts to build effective partnerships with local authorities and support regional development.
