Invest Bulgaria Agency (IBA) organized a working visit of representatives from TUSAŞ Engine Industries Inc. (TEI) – a leading international manufacturer and global center for the design and production of aircraft engines and components. The visit took place in response to the company’s expressed interest in implementing an investment project in the Republic of Bulgaria and exploring opportunities to expand its operations in Europe.
During the visit, the TEI delegation was led by Prof. Dr. Fahrettin Öztürk, Chairman of the Board of Directors, and included senior executives responsible for production, product management, quality, and business development. On behalf of Invest Bulgaria Agency, the delegation was accompanied by Mr. Angel Ivanov, Acting Executive Director, and Mr. Julian Balchev, Secretary General of the Agency.
Throughout the meetings, IBA presented Bulgaria’s key investment advantages to TEI’s leadership, as well as the available investment promotion instruments, including certification procedures under the Investment Promotion Act and opportunities for institutional support in the implementation of investment projects. Particular emphasis was placed on the country’s strategic geographic location, the availability of highly qualified engineering talent, competitive operating costs, and the development of industrial zones with ready infrastructure.
As part of the program, the delegation visited the Trakia Economic Zone-one of the most successful industrial clusters in Southeast Europe-where meetings were held with the zone’s management and opportunities for establishing high-tech manufacturing operations were presented.
A working meeting was also held at the Consulate General of the Republic of Türkiye in Plovdiv.
The visit of the TUSAŞ Engine Industries Inc. delegation represents an important step in the process of assessing Bulgaria as a potential investment destination for the company. Invest Bulgaria Agency will continue to provide full support to the investor and assist in the exploration and implementation of high value-added investment projects in strategic industries such as aviation and defense.
