InvestBulgaria Agency conducted a webinar on the topic “The Advantages of Bulgaria as an Investment Destination”

InvestBulgaria Agency (IBA) conducted a webinar on the topic “The Advantages of Bulgaria as an Investment Destination” on November 25, 2021 from 11.00 a.m., in relation to the implementation of Project BG16RFOP002-2.006-0001-C04 “Improvement of the quality and quantity of the services provided to the potential investors in Bulgaria”, procedure BG16RFOP002-2.006 “Positioning Bulgaria as a known and preferred investment destination by supporting the activities of InvestBulgaria Agency (IBA)”, with the financial support of the Operational Program “Innovations and Competitiveness” 2014 – 2020, co-financed by the European Union through the European Regional Development Fund.

The webinar addressed the following topics:

 

  • Good practices of foreign investment in Bulgaria;
  • Microeconomic data;
  • Tax system;
  • Investment climate in Bulgaria. Advantages offered by the investment promotion incentives, and the state mechanisms for their implementation;
  • Policies to retain the workforce. Policies aimed at business resilience in the pandemic situation;
  • The advantages of Bulgaria compared to the neighbouring countries.

 

The event was moderated by: Mr. Georgi Stoeff, Executive Director of Trakia Tech.

 

Investment climate in Bulgaria. Advantages offered by the investment promotion incentives, and the state mechanisms for their implementation was presented by Mr. Stamen Yanev, Executive Director of InvestBulgaria Agency;

 

Associate Prof. Savina Mihailova – Goleminova from St. Kliment Ohridski University Sofia of Sofia presented the tax system, the legal framework, and the applicability of state aid in tax measures;

 

Promotion measures, financial instruments to retain the workforce and support businesses in the Covid pandemic situation, including the retention of jobs. Financial instruments and business funding programs in the 2021-2027 perspective.  Macroeconomic data was presented by Sophia Kassidova – head of Strategy and Development Department, Bulgarian Development Bank;

 

The topic “Good practices of foreign investment in Bulgaria; Comparisons in the levels of Investments with other countries in the region was presented by Atanas Kolev- economist at the European Investment Bank;

 

Stefan Yonkov, Consul for economic affairs in Germany, and head of the Office for Commercial and Economic Affairs in Munich spoke about „The advantages of Bulgaria compared to the neighbouring countries”.  

 

The webinar was attended by 50 representatives of Bulgarian and foreign companies, local and regional authorities.
