INVESTBULGARIA AGENCY PRESENTS INVESTMENT PROMOTION TOOLS AT REGIONAL FORUM IN PLEVEN

The InvestBulgaria Agency (IBA) participated in the regional forum “Priority Investment Projects and Knowledge and Technology Transfer for the Integrated Development of the Northwest Region,” held in Pleven. The event brought together representatives of public institutions, local authorities, academia, the business community and professional organisations to discuss opportunities for sustainable development and enhancing the investment attractiveness of Northwestern Bulgaria.

During the panel dedicated to industrial development and investment, Chief Expert Stoycho Stoychev presented the activities of the InvestBulgaria Agency, the opportunities for investment project certification and the incentives available under the Investment Promotion Act. Particular emphasis was placed on the Agency’s role as a trusted partner to businesses and a bridge between investors, central and local government institutions. Mr Stoychev also showcased the Interactive Investment Map of Bulgaria, which is regularly updated and provides comprehensive information on the country’s investment potential.

The presentation highlighted the Agency’s best practices in supporting investors throughout the investment process—from identifying suitable investment sites and exploring opportunities within industrial zones to ensuring institutional coordination and providing tailored administrative assistance. It was emphasised that the InvestBulgaria Agency supports investors throughout the implementation of their projects, regardless of whether a particular investment qualifies for certification under the Investment Promotion Act.

The topics presented generated significant interest among participants and led to an engaging discussion. Representatives of local municipalities raised questions regarding the competitiveness of Northwestern Bulgaria, the development of industrial infrastructure and the conditions required to attract strategic investors.

In response, it was emphasised that the successful implementation of major investment projects depends on the active involvement of local authorities, well-developed infrastructure, a skilled workforce and effective coordination between municipalities and national institutions.
