MILA NENOVA PRESENTED THE INVESTMENT OPPORTUNITIES AT A FORUM IN TÜRKIYE

Mila Nenova, Executive Director of InvestBulgaria Agency presented the investment opportunities at a forum in Türkiye. Milena Stoycheva, Minister of Innovation and Growth, Vasil Valchev, Consul General of Bulgaria in Istanbul and others took part in the meeting, held at the invitation of the Turkish-Bulgarian Business Council at the Council for Foreign Economic Relations of Türkiye.

Nenova presented to nearly 50 representatives of Turkish companies the incentive measures under the Investment Promotion Act (IPA) provided by the state and how the agency can assist in the opening of new investment projects, stressing that Bulgaria and Türkiye can cooperate by taking advantage of their strategic location. “In this way, we will strengthen our own economies and contribute to a more stable future for the region,” Nenova said.  

The Minister of Innovation and Growth emphasized the traditionally good trade and economic relations between Bulgaria and Türkiye – trade in 2022 amounts to over EUR 7 billion. Turkish investments in Bulgaria are worth more than $3 billion. Dollars.  

“Bulgaria is attractive for investment thanks to its macroeconomic and financial stability. The government is making targeted efforts to improve the investment climate in the country, “said Minister Stoycheva.  

Zeki Sarbekir, Chairman of the Turkish-Bulgarian Business Council at the Council for Foreign Economic Relations of Türkiye (DEİK), said that Bulgaria is an important strategic partner for Türkiye. He also mentioned that our country has logistical potential and information infrastructure that supports trade flows and opens up new opportunities for cooperation.  

During her visit to Türkiye, Ms. Nenova had the opportunity to visit the Türkiye Innovation Week forum. The forum is focused on innovation and is organized with the aim of developing, expanding and discovering the power of innovation and presenting a vision for the future.  

The aim of the event was to identify the sectors and industries that will need innovation most in the next century. A wide range of topics such as renewables, IT, electronics, innovative developments in healthcare, educational technologies, artificial intelligence, automation and financial technologies with a broad perspective were discussed.
