The Minister of Innovation and Growth Daniel Lorer and Bogdan Bogdanov, Executive Director of the InvestBulgaria Agency (IBA) presented a certificate for a priority investment project under the Investment Promotion Act (IPA) to Intuitive Surgical. The company, which is a leader in the production of equipment for robotic surgery and minimally invasive care, will invest in the construction of a modern production base in Parvomai, Plovdiv region. The amount of the investment amounts to BGN 84 million and will be financed with own funds. Over 100 new jobs will initially be created during the implementation of the investment project and as a result of it.

The company’s investment project is related to the construction of a modern production facility for 3D endoscopes for robotic surgery. The investment is aimed at improving market competitiveness and the possibility of increasing the scale for growth in the future. The project includes fabrication of micro-optics, cable assemblies, advanced processes such as laser welding and micro-soldering, as well as assembly.

“Intuitive Surgical Sarl” is a company registered in Switzerland, with a subject of activity: carrying out activities related to research and development, as well as manufacturing, selling, renting and providing machines, instruments and devices for medical diagnosis and robotic surgery, as well and the provision of services related to such machines, etc.
