Mila Nenova, Executive Director of InvestBulgaria Agency (IBA), met and talked with H.E. Mr. Michigami Hisashi, Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Japan to Bulgaria. 

E. Michigami Hisashi warmly congratulated Mrs. Nenova, and in the course of the conversation the Ambassador said that the Japanese business is reinventing Bulgaria as a suitable investment destination.

“One of my personal missions is to present Bulgaria to the Japanese entrepreneurial community as a place with unlimited opportunities for development in high-tech sectors,” H.E. Michigami.  

At the end of 2023, RIKEN – the largest research institution in Japan signed a Memorandum of Understanding for research cooperation with INSAIT – Institute of Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence and Technology, part of Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski”. Kliment Ohridski”.  

The meeting also discussed the organization of initiatives of mutual interest such as an online forum, participation in events and conferences.  

At the end of the meeting, Mr. Michigami and Ms. Nenova agreed that the right approach to business is of key importance and it plays a major role in retaining and attracting Japanese companies in Bulgaria, as well as maintaining stable economic relations between the two countries can help in the use of technology and science in the daily life of the population.
