Meeting between Hristo Etropolski, Acting Executive Director of Invest Bulgaria Agency (IBAA) and H.E. Anatol Cebuc, Ambassador Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Moldova to Bulgaria took place at the office of the Agency. The bilateral meeting covered important economic and trade issues as well as the presentation of Bulgaria’s advantages as an investment destination compared to other competing countries.
During the meeting, the future conclusion of a memorandum between IBA and the Investment Agency of the Republic of Moldova on economic cooperation in the beginning of next year was discussed. Mr Etropolski also presented the investment opportunities in Bulgaria and the package of incentives provided by the state to increase the inflow of foreign direct investment (FDI). Emphasis was also placed on priority sectors in the Bulgarian economy, such as automotive, mechanical engineering, electronics, information technology, innovation and R&D cooperation.
H.E. Anatol Cebuc supported the increase of cooperation in the typical agricultural sector of both countries. Further areas of mutual interest were agreed, including the holding of a business forum in the town of. Chisinau, with the aim of revealing the potential of investments in a bilateral aspect.
During the past month, the newly appointed Ambassadors Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Bulgaria visited our office: for Moldova – Maya Dobreva, for India – Nikolay Yankov, for Slovenia – Krasimir Bozhanov, for Lebanon – Yassen Tomov, for Jordan – Metin Kazak. At the meetings with the diplomatic representatives, Mr. Etropolski touched upon the topics of future cooperation in the line of foreign direct investments and the opportunities for strengthening the image of Bulgaria as an attractive investment destination.
