The Executive Director of the InvestBulgaria Agency (IBA), Mrs. Mila Nenova, took part in the panel “FDI in Services: A Key Engine of Global Growth” during the WAIPA World Investment Conference 2025, held on October 22–23 in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates.
The session, moderated by Matthew Stephenson, Head of Investment and Services at the World Economic Forum, brought together representatives of leading investment promotion agencies and international organizations, including Apex-Brasil, the Director of Invest Shanghai, and WAIPA.
In her remarks, Mrs. Nenova emphasized the role of the services sector as a driver of economic growth and an opportunity for diversification of regional economies. She presented Bulgaria’s experience in promoting high value-added investments in sectors such as ICT, outsourcing, logistics, and healthcare, as well as IBA’s efforts to support investors through certification, administrative assistance, and active international cooperation.
The forum, organized by the World Association of Investment Promotion Agencies (WAIPA) and the UAE Ministry of Investment, gathered representatives from over 100 countries to exchange best practices and discuss future trends in global foreign direct investment (FDI) flows.
