THE FRENCH-BULGARIAN CHAMBER OF COMMERCE AND INDUSTRY AWARDED THE WINNERS OF THE “INNOVATION AWARDS” COMPETITION

The French-Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry awarded the winners of the “Innovation Awards” competition at a ceremony held tonight at the Grand Hotel Millennium Sofia, where Mrs. Mila Nenova was a special guest!

Mrs. Nenova congratulated the Chamber for the wonderful joint work and shared that for the last year the Bulgarian Investment Agency has certified two French projects with a total value of EUR 126 million. The total number of newly created jobs is 315.

Minister Stoycheva also congratulated the Chamber and added that France is a key partner for Bulgaria, we must continue to encourage French companies to develop their business in our country.

This was the fifth edition of the Chamber’s competition and it recognized people and companies that have demonstrated creativity and ingenuity in their respective fields. This year’s participants had the opportunity to apply in parallel and in the category “Innovative Urban Solutions” in partnership with Sofia Municipality.

This year, six awards were given in the categories: “Innovative Project”, “Innovative Idea”, “Startup”, “Corporate Social Responsibility Project”, “Business Person of the Year”, “Special Jury Award”.

The ceremony was attended by Minister Milena Stoycheva, the Ambassador of France to Bulgaria H.E. Joël Meyer, FBTIC Chairman Stephane Delahaye, business representatives, Sofia Municipality Within the framework of the event, the projects participants in the competition – InnoExpo, as well as a discussion on innovations in enterprises and municipalities moderated by Konstantin Valkov – Program Director of Darik Radio, and with the participation of Nikola Barbutov, Deputy Mayor of Sofia Municipality in the direction of European Policies, International Affairs and Tourism, Francois Debergh, Director of Veolia for Bulgaria and Greece, and Evgeni Borisov, co-founder of Pontica Solutions and part of the Bulgaria Wants You project.
