WORKING VISIT OF THE DIRECTOR OF BAI TO ISTANBUL TO STRENGTHEN COOPERATION AND ATTRACT FUTURE INVESTMENTS

The Director of the  InvestBulgaria Agency (IBA), Mila Nenova, made a three-day working visit to the town of Sofia. Istanbul, Turkey. Mr. Ventseslav Petrov, Economic Counsellor at the Consulate General of Bulgaria, also participated in the program.

On June 27, Ms. Nenova participated in the forum “Second Software and Globalization Summit”, organized by the Turkish Association of Software Industrialists (YASAD). She made a presentation on the investment climate in Bulgaria and the successes achieved in the field of innovation and high technology. The event was also attended by representatives of similar institutions from Germany, Azerbaijan and Turkey.

During the forum, Nenova held working meetings with potential Turkish investors, creating prerequisites for the implementation of future investment projects in Bulgaria.

On June 28, Mrs. Nenova visited the production base of the Turkish company “Sarkuisan” in the city of Gebze. The company’s executives spoke about their investment projects in Bulgaria. She  also provided information on the incentive measures and the necessary actions for the implementation of these projects.

The working visit continued with a meeting at the office of the Council for Foreign Economic Relations (DEİK) at the initiative of the Turkish-Bulgarian Business Council. The Bulgarian delegation, including Mrs. Nenova and the representatives of the Consulate General – Teodora Taskova, Tourism Attaché, and Ventseslav Petrov, Economic Advisor, discussed with the Turkish side specific actions to promote Bulgaria among the Turkish business circles. Ms. Nenova made a presentation on the conditions for business in the country and the incentive measures that companies can use. The two sides discussed the idea of organizing a bilateral business forum in Istanbul by the end of the year, aimed at developing trade relations and increasing bilateral trade.

The visit of the Director of IBA to Istanbul ended with concrete ideas for future cooperation and investment projects that will strengthen the economic ties between Bulgaria and Turkey.
