The company “AK Electric” AD received a Class A certificate for the investment project “Modernization and introduction of new technologies”, which will be implemented in Pernik.
The certificate was presented by Ms. Milena Stoycheva, Minister of Innovation and Growth and Ms. Mila Nenova, Executive Director of InvestBulgaria Agency (IBA) to Mr. Emil Nikolov, Executive Director of AK Electric AD.
According to Mr. Nikolov, the company employs over 1,200 employees and the company’s production facilities are located in Radomir, Pernik and Kyustendil.
The investment project, subject to the certification procedure, is related to the expansion of the company’s activities and provides for the construction of a modern and high-tech factory in the town of Pernik. It will produce end products for electrical equipment intended for renewable energy sources, namely battery energy storage systems (BESS). The company intends to purchase new machines and equipment – laser, punch, shot blasting machine, cranes, forklifts, among others. The main processes that will be carried out are: metalworking section – cold processing and welding of sheet and profile steel material, as well as anti-corrosion coating; electrical and mechanical assembly – activities for mechanical assembly of products, wiring and electrical installation, etc.
The amount of the investment amounts to BGN 10 400 000. It is expected to create 170 new jobs.
“AK Electric” JSC is one of the leaders in the design and production of electrical panels and complex metal components for industrial customers with high requirements. The company designs and assembles electrical panels and processes ferrous and non-ferrous metals. The company is part of the Swedish group AQ Group AB.
