On October 4, 2022, in Düsseldorf, Germany, InvestBulgaria Agency (IBA) held an international forum, during which the conditions and opportunities for investing, starting and developing a business in the Republic of Bulgaria were presented.

Priority was given to the following sectors – automotive and mechanical engineering and information technologies. The forum was opened by the executive director of IBA Bogdan Bogdanov.

Germany, as Bulgaria’s main economic partner, is a huge priority for us! German investors are of utmost importance because they invest for the long term. Investments are evenly distributed across industries and regions in the country, more than half of them are “greenfield”, from which it should be assumed that German investors appreciate the attractive conditions for business in Bulgaria. Among them are FESTO, Würth, Ottobock SE, Liebherr, VOSS, Witte, Lufthansa, Bosch, etc.,” stated Bogdan Bogdanov during the opening of the event.

Successful examples of realized investments in Bulgaria were presented by the representatives of Next e.Go Bulgaria, “Etem Gestamp”, “Automotive Cluster Bulgaria” and others.

The event was attended by Rumen Bonev, commercial attaché in Frankfurt, Stoycho Stoychev, commercial attaché in Hamburg and Stefan Yonkov, commercial attaché in Munich.

The program also included familiarization with IBA’s activities and holding individual conversations with representatives of German business, showing interest in investments in Bulgaria. Participants in the event were leading companies from the automotive, engineering and information technology sectors.
