Hristo Etropolski – Deputy Executive Director at Invest Bulgaria Agency (IBA) presented the investment opportunities in Bulgaria during the Second Bulgarian-Turkish Business Forum. The event was held in Bansko on 9-10 June. He highlighted the advantages of Bulgaria as an investment destination and presented some of the successful practices in the country, including Alkomet AD.
300 companies and 27 exhibitors took part in this year’s edition of the Bulgarian-Turkish Business Forum. The forum was attended by Aylin Sekizkök, Ambassador of the Republic of Türkiye in Bulgaria. Bogdan Bogdanov, Minister of Economy and Industry, Ivan Kadev, Mayor of Bansko Municipality, Cengiz Günay, Member of the Board of the TOBB (Association of Chambers of Commerce and Exchanges of Türkiye) and Co-Chairman of the Turkish-Bulgarian Forum of Chambers of Commerce and Industry, representatives of the government and business.
The Chairman of the Board of the Bulgarian-Turkish Chamber of Commerce and Industry congratulated the attendees and expressed his gratitude to the large number of participants in the second edition of the forum. He also stressed that “The relations with Türkiye have reached a peak and we, the Bulgarian-Turkish Chamber of Commerce and Industry, are proud and happy to have contributed to this. I am very happy to share that this year the Chamber celebrates its tenth anniversary. We will celebrate this anniversary with a number of events. And we will continue to work hard for our goal, namely to help develop Turkish-Bulgarian economic relations.“
The participants in this year’s edition of the forum had the opportunity to learn more about the trade and investment opportunities between Bulgaria and Turkey in a panel moderated by Emrah Sazak – Deputy Chairman of the Turkish-Bulgarian Business Council at the Council for Foreign Economic Relations of the Republic of Türkiye /DEIK/. Participants in the panel were Sinem Taştan – Commercial Counsellor at the Embassy of the Republic of Turkey in Bulgaria, Hristo Etropolski – Deputy Executive Director of Invest Bulgaria Agency and Lachezar Petkov – Director of the SME Internationalization Directorate“.
„The Future of Renewable Energy in Southeastern Europe: Opportunities for Bulgaria and Türkiye” were presented by Stefan Gugushev – Chairman of the Board of El Bonus and Gugushev & Partners, Monika Minkova – Managing Partner Renomia OOD, Elena Rasheva – Managing Director Eclipse Energy and Rositsa Chopeva – Partner xFigureFinance. The panel was moderated by Tsvetomira Tsanova from SeeNext.
The opportunities for European funding were presented by Kalin Marinov – Deputy Director General of DG “European Funds for Competitiveness” at the Ministry of Innovation and Growth, Tsvetelina Lilova – Eco Globe Ltd, Mario Kamenov (Project Manager “Lot Consult Ltd”) and Ercan Kyuchukarslan /ASES/ Erasmus + and Interreg (BG&TR). The moderator of the panel was Maya Blaskova – European Programs and Projects Management Expert, Alkomet AD.
Guests at the forum had the opportunity to hold B2B meetings to exchange ideas and experiences, and to lay the foundation for future business partnerships.
The event was organized by the Bulgarian-Turkish Chamber of Commerce and Industry in partnership with the Commercial Section of the Embassy of the Republic of Türkiye in Bulgaria, TOBB (Association of Chambers of Commerce and Exchanges of Türkiye), the Turkish-Bulgarian Business Council at the Council for Foreign Economic Relations of the Republic of Türkiye (DEIK), the Bulgarian Small and Medium Enterprises Promotion Agency (BSMEPA) and Invest Bulgaria Agency, the Bulgarian-Turkish Women’s Business Club.
The focus of this year’s forum was automotive, manufacturing, healthcare, construction, energy furniture, IT and outsourcing, consulting and travel services. The aim of the business forum is to strengthen bilateral ties between business representatives, provide opportunities for exchange of experience, ideas, expertise, as well as opening new opportunities for partnerships and development in the country and the region.
