InvestBulgaria Agency (IBA) conducted a webinar on the topic “Electronics and Electrical Engineering in Bulgaria – Investment Opportunities” on 21 October 2021, starting time 11.00 a.m., via the platform developed by Ciela Norma, in relation to the implementation of Project BG16RFOP002-2.006-0001-C04 “Improvement of the quality and quantity of the services provided to the potential investors in Bulgaria”, procedure BG16RFOP002-2.006 “Positioning Bulgaria as a known and preferred investment destination by supporting the activities of InvestBulgaria Agency (IBA)”, with the financial support of the Operational Program “Innovations and Competitiveness” 2014 – 2020, co-financed by the European Union through the European Regional Development Fund.
The webinar addressed the following topics:
- The Bulgarian traditions in the sectors of electronics and electrical engineering;
- The contemporary engineers – qualified and with modern education, western values;
- Doing business in Bulgaria;
- Dual education and technical science programs; The link between theory and practice;
- The investment climate in Bulgaria. The advantages provided by the incentive measures to promote the investments and the state mechanisms for their implementation.
The event was moderated by Mr. Georgi Stoev, CEO of Trakia Tech.

The traditions established in the sectors of electronics and electrical engineering was presented by Mr. Orlin Dimitrov, Executive Director of the Bulgarian Association of Electrical Engineering and Electronics (BASSEL), and Mr. Stefan Pachedjiev, PhD, Executive Director of the Union of Electronics, Electrical Engineering and Communications.
The contemporary engineers – qualified and with modern education, western values was presented by Mr. Yonko Chuklev, member of the Board of the Professional Organization of Robotics and Automation.
The topic: Doing business in Bulgaria was presented by Mr. Emil Kirilov, CEO ZEK ENGINEERING LTD.
Mr. Iskren Kandov, assistant professor at the Technical University in the city of Gabrovo presented the topic Dual education and technical science programs; The link between theory and practice.
The webinar was attended by 50 representatives of Bulgarian and foreign investors, local and regional authorities, small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
