On 05.02.2024 in Vienna was held the signing of a Cooperation Agreement between the Invest Bulgaria Agency (IBA) and the Vienna Economic Forum.
The purpose of this agreement is to support efforts to promote Bulgaria as a preferred investment destination and to stimulate the creation of new jobs through key collaborations in the field of innovation.
The signing was attended by the Minister of Innovation and Growth Milena Stoycheva, the Executive Director of IBA Mila Nenova, the Ambassador of the Republic of Bulgaria to Austria H.E. Desislava Naydenova, as well as key figures from the Vienna Economic Forum – Dr. Elena Kircheva, Secretary General, Heinz Mesinger, Vice President and CFO, and Eckehart Stremitzer, Auditor.
Minister Stoycheva stressed that participation in the initiatives of the Vienna Economic Forum opens doors for Bulgaria to position itself as an attractive investment destination. She added that the government is actively working to improve the investment climate in the country, pointing out the importance of innovation in attracting investors.
“We will deepen our partnership with the Vienna Economic Forum with a number of significant initiatives. Promoting our country as an attractive investment destination is a major role of IBA and is of key importance to promote regional economic cooperation, “said Mila Nenova, Executive Director of IBA.
With the signing of the agreement, Bulgaria will be actively involved in all initiatives and events of the Forum and will continue to participate in the decision-making of its governing bodies. Also, IBA, as the main partner under the Agreement, will have the opportunity to promote incentives for investors abroad. Information on the Agency’s activities will also be published on the website and in the annual brochure of the Vienna Economic Forum.
The Vienna Economic Forum is an important international platform, founded in 2004, which plays a key role in promoting regional economic cooperation and in identifying investment opportunities in the region from the Adriatic to the Black Sea. The organization has held special consultative status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) since 2012 and has been registered in the Transparency Register of the European Parliament and the European Commission since 2015.
