The Executive Director of the InvestBulgaria Agency, Mila Nenova, took part in the Vienna Economic Forum as part of the second panel on “Ask the Visionaries. The role of innovation, technology and education in regional economic cooperation.” Mrs. Nenova said that what the Vienna Economic Forum is doing corresponds to the work of the agency, and this is not an easy task. Each of the attendees here would like to attract investments to their country, but I believe that we need to join forces and put our countries on the European and world economic map as a sustainable place for investment. In this rapidly changing economic situation, we must be able to take advantage of the advantages that the region provides us. At the end of the forum, Mrs. Nenova was awarded the statuette “Bulgarian Lion” by the sculptor Andrey Moskov. The panel was also attended by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo Albin Kurti, Deputy Minister Mincheva, Deputy Minister of Economic Development of Montenegro Goran Jovetic the Secretary General of the Vienna Economic Forum Dr. Elena Kircheva, the Vice President and Financial Director of VIF Heinz Messinger and others. The forum was held at the Boyana Residence, and the participants in it numbered over 200, and there were representatives from more than 20 countries.
Elena Kircheva, Secretary General of the Vienna Economic Forum, said that today’s forum is another proof that the common interests of active economic entities engaged in the serious desire for prosperity of the region from the Adriatic to the Black Sea are working. The motto of the Vienna Economic Forum “The economy is the engine” works, Kircheva said and added that the forum continues to prove itself as the European economic platform based in Vienna, where visionaries meet. She added that the topics that will be discussed today are whether the economy can be a driving force in difficult and uncertain times, what are the opportunities for regional economic development in an uncertain environment, how to deal with the challenges under the pressure of reality – the reality of a war of an aggressor on our continent, which is unacceptable by international law, and in a member state of the Vienna Economic Forum – Ukraine, will the vision of building a common economic zone from the Adriatic to the Black Sea continue to be followed, Kircheva said, expressing confidence that the countries of the format are capable of realizing it.
